The Experience

How it works
1. Say Hello
Tell me all about you, your plans and what you’re dreaming up for your day. If we sound like a good fit, a £500 deposit and signed agreement officially secures your date in my diary. Eek, it’s happening!
2. Let’s plan
Around two months before your wedding, I’ll send over your questionnaire so I can get to know all the plans, important people and little details you want captured.
We’ll go through your timeline, must have group photos and everything I need to know so when the day comes, you can just relax and enjoy it.
I’ll be there as your photographer and hype gal, with the stain remover, body tape and lippy at the ready!
3. Relive it
You’ll get a little sneak peek within 24 hours because I know you’ll be dying to see them!
Then I’ll get to work on your full gallery, filled with all the people, emotions, laughs and little moments you might not have even noticed on the day.
Photos that take you straight back to exactly how it felt.

More than just your photographer

From the moment you book me, I want everything to feel easy, relaxed and exciting.
I’m here for more than just taking the photos. Whether you need help planning your timeline, choosing locations, working out when to sneak away for photos or just someone to tell you everything is going to be absolutely fine, I’ve got you.

FAQ

How do we book you?
Yay! Once we’ve chatted and you’re ready to go ahead, I take a £500 deposit and ask you to sign my wedding agreement. Once both are done, your date is officially secured in my diary.
We’re awkward in front of the camera. Help?!
Honestly, most couples tell me this! You don’t need to know what to do. I’ll give you a little direction when you need it, but nothing overly posed or awkward. I want you to have a laugh, enjoy yourselves and actually feel like you.
Can we hitch a lift with you for photos?
Absolutely! If we’re heading off to another location for photos, you’re more than welcome to jump in with me. My insurance covers me to carry passengers and I currently have five spare seats, so there’s plenty of room!
It also means you don’t need to worry about arranging another car and we can head off together, get some lovely photos and get you straight back to your guests.
When will we hear from you before the wedding?
Around two months before your day I’ll send you a questionnaire covering everything I need to know, from timings and locations to family photos and all the little details. From there we can get your photography timeline sorted so everything feels nice and relaxed on the day.

FAQ

When will we get our photos?
You’ll receive your sneak peeks within 24 to 48 hours, although if I get a chance to back everything up and have a little edit during your meal, you might even get a few on the day!
For your full gallery, I always allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery just to give myself a little breathing room during busy wedding season. That said, so far I’ve managed to deliver every wedding gallery at around the one week mark, and I’ll always get them to you as soon as they’re ready.
Your full gallery will be delivered through your own private online gallery, ready to relive it all!
Do you have backup equipment?
Absolutely! I shoot with two Nikon Z8 camera bodies and bring multiple lenses with me, so I’ve always got backup equipment ready to go if anything unexpected happens.
Both cameras record every photo onto two memory cards at the same time, so there’s already a second copy from the moment I take it. As soon as I’m home, everything is backed up onto my hard drives too, and I don’t format the original memory cards until your full gallery has been safely delivered.
Can you help us with our timeline?
Please do ask! Photography timings can make such a difference to how relaxed your day feels. Once I have your questionnaire, I’m more than happy to help work out when we need to be where, while making sure you still have plenty of time to actually enjoy your wedding.
Do you photograph dogs at weddings?
YES. Please bring the dog! I’m completely dog obsessed and will never complain about having a four legged wedding guest to photograph.
more FAQ

How many group photos should we have?
I recommend keeping your must have group photos to around 8 to 10. Just make a list beforehand and I always recommend nominating someone who knows everyone to help round people up. The quicker we get through them, the quicker you can get back to the party!
What happens if the Orkney weather is awful?
We embrace it! Wind, rain and dramatic Orkney skies can make some of my favourite photos. I’ll always keep an eye on the weather and we can be flexible with timings where possible. A little rain definitely won’t stop us.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! I’m based in Orkney but I love travelling for weddings. Travel and accommodation costs are additional, and because of the extra time involved I currently only travel for selected wedding packages. Just send me your plans and I can work everything out for you.
Can we add extra hours?
Yes! If you decide you’d like me there for longer, additional wedding day coverage is £250 per hour, subject to availability.

Tell me all about it

Whether you’ve got everything planned or you’re just getting started, I’d love to hear what you’ve got in mind. Tell me your date, your plans and a little about you both, and let’s see if we’re a good fit!
